KENNE BELL idea

RE: KENNE BELL idea
You guys should see my and sawyer's whipples - our air intake is set-up like the KB...
As to the thread starter -
For the power levels you are looking for the KB will be fine and you can't go wrong with either the KB or Whipple. Click the link in my sig to see the kind of power I made with the KB...[8D]
If you are going to use a tuner/installer - ask HIM which kit he is more comfortable with and buy that one...period.

im not planning on getting a supercharger, and you would know better than i do, but the KB supercharger has its intake in a more remote place by the front bumper, wouldnt that make it suck in much cooler air than the whipple and saleen? or does the whipple just inherently run cooler than the kenne bell regardless of air intake temp?

Yes the KB intake is in the fender. As far as it drawing much cooler air, I dont know never checked my underhood temp. But since I am moving 99% of the time I have airflow. I was speaking to the fact the the KB runs hotter in its operation than the Whipple does. I would argue that negates any performance benefit from the wheels well filter. It just gets heated back up by the blower.
I have my IAT moved to after the blower and in regular street driving my IAT is about 4-5 deg F higher than ambient. Anyone have a KB difference?
Honestly where they put the filter really never came into play when I bought mine, and that one positive didnt outweigh the other KB negatives to me.
Everyone has different priorities and tastes, and I will defend anyone right to buy an inferior supercharger with my every last bit of strength j/k.
As I say all over these boards, all of the major supercharger kits are great and will make similar power at similar boost levels. Buy the one that floats your boat from a sound, look, price perspective.

The Stage III packageincluded:
Better clutches and bands (better material)
Upgraded pump
upgraded billett servos
upgraded shift and TC lock-up solenoids
modified valve body
locking converter with billett case (optional)
deep tran pan (optional)
The input shaft is still stock because there are no upgraded shafts available (yet).
The stock 5/8" shaft could be a failure point in very high HP applications.
My experience has been that the third gear clutches or the servos fail on the 5R55 before anything else. Now if you launch a 600 RWHP Mustang on slicks at 5000 RPM and it gets traction the input shaft could fail. I launch at 200-2400 and it has hel up at my power level.
