.. well, I planned on getting a forged rotating assembly/pistons/connect rods but I'll wait until next year to do that. I can't stand the thought of barely gaining any power with a great motor and then having to wait for boost.. but when I do go boosted... YOWZA!~

I keep juggling from simply mods like CAMS/delete plates, to a blower to built bottom end.. trying to save money but in the end, looks like the blower is gonna win this battle.. and rightfully so!

hey, we trap the same speed though I am a little quicker... I bet your ride has some decent pull mid to up top. The 4.10s in the auto are great for acceleration, but that final gear is a doozy (long *** gear)

I had my engine forged & stroked. It's a 302 stroker now and I felt the same way about spending buku bucks on getting it built and not having extra power until getting a blower. What I can say is that I did get extra torque from it which was nice. I didn't have a baseline dyno before the build but after with the stroker @ 9.3:1 compression it made 289rwhp & 312rwtq. That was also with VCT lockouts so they cost me power as well. The only things done to the top was stainless valves since one of my stock ones were bent and some other replacement stuff like new guides, lash adjusters and stuff.

Now if it was done as an 8.5:1 compression, that would have sucked cause I probably would have lost power. In the end it will be worth it. Remember, if you are putting a forged assembly in your existing engine you should get it bored & honed so you'd probably end up with a 302 set-up if you go stroker.

Tight set up. Have you gotten a blower on her yet??

Thanks for the tip. I still have a long way to go before anything is set on the build, but for now I am sure I am getting the Vortech V3 ASAP. I'll suck when I have to pull everything off to do the rebuild but 400whp in the mean time will be more then enough..
