Default steering wheel question

i just bought my 92 lx a coupleof weeks ago and the steering wheel is 90 degrees off center, when the wheels are straight the top of the steering wheel is pointed towards the passenger door
the guy i bought it from said it was not like that before he had the steering disc coupling replaced so i am thinking that it was put back together wrong
and my ford service dvd only goes back to 2000 can anybody send me a pic off how yours is put together or tell me how i can recenter the steering wheel

thanks for the help

if you take the steeringwheel off there should be like 4 or 6 different positions it can be put back on becasue it has liek a disc with tabs in it that grabs the wheel, and they can be positioned differntly. or you can undo the splines in the steering shaft and rotate the wheel till its straight with the tires and then put it back together.

i dont know about putting the sterring wheel on at a different angle, i thought they went on the column 1 way only, it sounds like you need to undo the coupling in the botton of the column and as said above put it straight with the wheels straight and tighten it back up

You can only put them on correctly, or 180* off. Its most likely in the joint by the steering rack.
