thier confused.... a posi and limit slip are the same thing..they both do the same thing.....here's my advice rebuild the unit take 2 of the best clutches from the old set install them with the new set but not side by side space them out this will tighten it up a ton...

alot of ppl think that a posi is the same as a spool or a locker but it isnt. a posi unit is in the same family as a limited slip. when both wheels are locked together constantly that is known as a spool or locker. depending on how it is setup.

EXACTLY!Thats an old trick and it really works.Posis arent that bad on the street as long as you take it easy.You cant go banging around the corners but if you stay concious of it being there and treat it according it should be ok.But OH DAMN if you open it up on a corner.LOL

have you ever turned around a live axle go-kart for the front and watched the tires turn they try to fight aech other,,plan stuipd on the street rain forget it ,,spools only on the track ,,or street if you romp the gas around turns ...

i think you're confused. you are saying you want to convert an "open or limited-slip" to posi.

you might want to confirm if your rear has a limited-slip, which is what I think you want.

No I do want to change it to a posi ,what I have now is a limited slip Like I have said I have a posi in my 55 and have had them in other cars in the past with no problems driving them on the street I guess posi rears on the street are a bit old school
