AMP warning light just came on

Bad alternator?

no. look on the alternator. there is a plug that has 3 wires coming out of it. two thick wires, and one yellow wire. see if that yellow wire is snapped.

then i am not sure. my yellow wire snapped causing the AMP light to come on. is your voltage meter ok?

voltmeter was ok at first, but did look like it was starting to freak out
as pulled into driveway

i would take it off(2 bolts) and take it to murrays. they can test it for free there.

lol i know what ill be doing tomarrow morning too! i have a "drivers improvment class" for drag racing. 8am-5pm! what a joke! they think they're gonna stop a mustang owner from racing?! i dont think so!

Try the old standby - while the engine is running, hold a screwdriver tip to the center of the back of the alternator. If you feel a magnetic pull then the alternator is still working, at least some. The first time I had a problem with my alternator it was charging but just not enough. The best idea is what Ckyguy98 said to do - have it tested.
