Default Need Help with 5.0 automatic transmission

I have been having trouble with my transmission lately. It has been shifting at around 4k rpm instead of 2k as it usually does and now it doesnt shift at all. I need to know if anyone has any ideas of what can be wrong. Please reply and let me know

First of all is the fluid and filter in good shape?Second when did it start this? What were you doing when it started?

I had an A4LD that did this and it ended up scrapping a bronze bushing and caused me to have to rebuild the tranny.

let me guess you have first and second but not hte rest. AOD are know to
have the overdrive band go out.
1,2 and R are on the same band
3 and 4 are on the other....this band seems to go out alot. your going to need a rebuild.

I overhauled my '94 AODE with the same symptoms. The problem was the one way clutch had come apart. Make sure whoever fixes it uses new parts. Sometimes good used parts can be substituted with no problem but this is not one of those cases. Ford has a new design that is MUCH better. Even if this clutch is OK, replace it with the new Ford part.

did you check the cable that attaches to the throttle body? if it is out of adjustment shifting will be way messed up.
