I have a sporadic idle sometimes (500-1200ish) so I did some reading and figured I would try cleaning the IAC. I took it off my stang just now, and it doesnt look like the IAC in this tutorial

Theirs looks like it has a spring on the inside, mine looks like just a little bar with no spring on it. I looked inside and can't see a spring at all. Heres some pics

That's b/c the one in the instruction pic is a different one from yours. The pic is kinda blurry but it looks ok as far as I can tell. Take some carb cleaner and spray the inside of it real good. You can do that to the throttle body as well if it looks dirty too.

yeah it definately looks normal. How come you took it off, you having idle issues? If you do, spray that with carb cleaner and it may end up fixing the idle issue if you had one, fixed mine.

have you cal. the tps?? if not call ford tech line and have them fax you directions. it easy and all you need is a volt meter. it was the single biggest factor in my idle issue.

I haven't calibrated the TPS, and I have no clue how. Do I just call and ask for directions, and theyll fax them for free? Can I find these directions online?





And yes, I'm having idling issues, I cleaned the IAC and ThrottleBody, but it didnt fix the idle problem. Should I try buying a new IAC? How much $$ do they run?
