Heads question

RE: Heads question
everyone ive talked to said that theyre more older technology. They were good in they're day but now they're not the best. I mean im sure anything is better over stock, but theyre not as exspensive as the TFS Track heats so you cant really compare them to them. Im sure for the money they're a nice flowing head. Im really wanting some Vic Jr's or some CNC Victors. I like the feeling of top end power. I was just wondering about the X's. They dont seem to be to exspensive and i know someone who's getting rid of a set for $600 but im trying to figure out if i want to save my money and grab me a set of Vic jrs like im probabally going to.

RE: Heads question
Im pretty sure they can handle 400hp. I mean i know some guys running ported older 351 heads putting out about 350 so 400 with some aluminum heads shouldnt be to much trouble. Make sure you get a pretty decent sized cam, like about a .550ish lift. What are you building? 306, 347, 331?

RE: Heads question
to be honest im not entirely too sure what i want to do yet , i just know id like to keep stock bottom end since car only has 50 thousand on it and i would like to be different and try and keep it at 302 and make like as close to 400 horses as possible.

RE: Heads question
Just remember you pay for what you get. Sometimes cheapest isn't always the best way. I know what you mean because I want the afr 185's but I have to settle for Gt 40's with port work and etc.
