I filled up the other day and I still had just a little ways to go before E and I was at 186 miles if I remember right so I'm just about right with you and I shift at around 2k RPMs.

I currently live in Denmark with my car. 92 octain is the lowest available. Does running the car on higher octain have any negative effect on the motor other than what you said?

So question, Since i've been running this 93 gas into the engine for the past few months, Will it hurt the performance to put 87 in it? These prices just suck... but i guess 2.99 is better than 3.19. i was thinking about advancing my timing next weekend.....

it's not colder it's slower the burn.....hell i run 89 in mine and my timing is 18*
ORIGINAL: Liquid_02

People need to realize the higher the octane you go... the less power you're actually making. It's not magic, it's logic. If I were to put 87 in one car, and 93 in an identical car, the one with 87 would beat it down the 1/4 every time. The higher you go, the colder it burns. So unless it is completely necessary, you're just wasting your money on hurting your power, and mileage as this topic is about.

Yeah I checked my timing 2 days ago, check out that mine was at 7-8, advanced it to 10. Not thinking I will see a difference, but did it anyways. I bounce around 140-160, with rarely and hiway mileage.

My timing was originally set at 6*, and now it's at 14*. I get waaay better gas mileage now than I did at 6*. I get decent mileage in general--about 220 miles before the light comes on. Incidentally, I just bought Chevron gas the other day for $3.50/gallon. Ain't that a b*tch.
