if the timming looks good, try cleaning your mass air flow sensor. mine sometimes gets gunked up a little, and it through out a bad reading to the computer scewing up my air fuel mixture.

my car was donig a similar thing. after reading this thread i checked my timing and it was way off . put it to 13 and no more noise and i got alot of power back. doing your timing by soud sucks i learned the hard way.

Yeah, I just have to get my hands on a timing light first. I'll see if I can borrow it from my cousin.

Oh, and she's got 106k miles. Mostly highway miles.
Oh, and I have a minor, yet important question to ask you guys. My AC does not want to work. I filled her up last year with gas, and she worked fine for a month and a half, but then no more cold air. So I'm pretty sure I have a leak somewere. How can I find this damn leak. Its getting pretty hot in AZ. I better get her a really good radiator too, so she does not overheat.

A buddy of mine told me that the pinging noise could also be the valves going bad. I sure hope not, it better be the timing, cuz that is easy to fix I guess.
