Since im still a bit of a noob what is a smog pump and what are the hp gains if any you get by deleting it? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

dont know the hp gains, but if ya dont have to pass smog/emission crap throw it...

more a thing of free up space in the engine compartment and a weight savings! if u remove get a 770k6 belt dont waste the money on a smog pump delet pulley! just buy the belt for about 13$ route it the same way as stock minus the pump an ull be golden!

a smog pump recirculates exhaust back into the motor to help reduce emissions.....makes sure it all burns...not a noticable gain but any gain is a good gain

thats not right, the EGR ( exhaust gas return ) recirculates exhaust gasses,

the smogpump just pumps fresh air into the exhasut pipes to help burn off any remaining hydro-carbons
in the cat converters.

you'll pick up 1-3hp just from not having to turn it on the belt
