Default Head questions

I wanted to get some heads for my 5.0. I hear that AFR 165s are awesome and you can get 80-100hp improvements from them. The only thing is I don’t know if I can put down $1300 for them. So here are my questions, is there a place to get good used ones and if I get used ones is there anything I need to do to them before putting them on? What other head options are out there? I have heard of the gt40 heads, but do they give the same hp improvements as the AFRs and are they any cheaper? I would like to get the most hp from the heads for the least amount of money. Is going used a good route? Any input will help.

check out some trick flow twisted wedge heads.
they flow damn near the same as the AFR 165's
the AFR's are slightly better, but the TF ones are significantly cheaper.
everyone ive talked to love their TF Twisted Wedge heads.
im definitely throwing some on my 5.0

from what i've seen,
the AFR's flow a minimal amount better than the TFS heads,
but they cost like $400 more.
id say the best heads are the AFR's,
but the best flow for the dollar your spending would be the Twisted Wedge
