Don't forget about your rear-end when you swap the motor.
If you have the 7.7 rear, it may not last very long behind the 5.0, especially if you're doing burnouts or hard launches.
Look for an 8.8 rear to swap in there.

do the 5.0s come stock with an 8.8 rear?

7.5" was the size in the 4 cyl cars and even the 5.0's until 1985

The 1986 and up mustang 5.0's and 4.6's have the 8.8"
