You are missing the larger one...the one that is on there is the smaller one. The larger one goes into the intake then the probe goes in, then the smaller one(that you have) will pinch down on the ring around the probe.

r u sure cause i had that nut on there in the hole on the intake and it screwed in fine....

is there a way i could use the stock probe and splice the wire onto it??? cause i dont feel like buyin another 60 dollar gauge

It went in fine, yes, but was it right, no. It wasnt right b/c nothing was holding the probe, it was just sitting there letting the coolant just flow by. That lower peice(the bigger one threaded on inside and outside that you are missing) is there for the probe to sit in and not to slip thru, then the top nut pinches down on it to seal it up so the probe wont move. You need that lower peice. Go back to where you got it and get the peice you are missing. The directions should also show you how it goes together. Do ya get it?

The stock pobe it electric, you new gauge is mecanical and you can't join them. I guess if you want to get really hillbilly, you could fill the hole with the probe in the nut with some RTV and use it like that. You just sound like you need to exchange yours for another with all the parts.
