Even if you dont want to get a custom grind... atleast call up Comp or something since they have many many many different cams to choose from for a 5.0

i agree with both of you. theres so many off the shelf cams that will fit real close with any given combo. unless youre building something really radical. comp, lunati, crane......etc. call them, tell them what you have, theyll set you right up. if youre on a tight budget, you can match up pretty close with an alpabet cam. dont just buy one cause its the "biggest" one they have....tailor it to your combo. the B is better than youre thinking. if matched up right. and can have more lift and duration than the E when used with 1.7's

abc cams are good but out dated tech..newer cams have better design and better pattern, trick flow cams are really good for the 5.0...custom cams are also better. its just a fact

1.7's with a B cam you think??

I'm considering it and your the first person that has said it without me asking about it...

I thought that I was being stupid but maybe it's a viable option until I go for a custom cam...??

Thanks for the insight I reckon,
Ivan

I am running a b-cam and 1.7 rr's.
it starts pulling at 3200 and past 4000 to 6000 pulls hard
but with longtubes it has little torque below 2800.
