I don't know if you need the kit or not.I do know that it works great and is easy to install.

For the A/C you will need a kit and for smog pump you can just delete it. On both or one or the other you will need to upgrade your belt to a shorter one.

don't forget the tube that will be left open on the exhaust. i cut mine off then cut a small piece of the tube off and slit it down the side, pounded it flat and welded it over the hole left in the exhaust. you can use some bolts from the hardware store to plug the back of the heads but make sure to take your time cleaning out the holes first or you will be at it for a while trying to install the plugs. then all that is left is the vacuum lines for the thermactor diverter stuff; they need to be capped off. have fun!

as far as the air pump lines running to the rear of the heads. i was told you could just remove the blocks that join the piping to the head and turn them around backwards, and reinstall them to cover the holes.only draw back is its a bi&^h with bellhousing mounted in place. when i did my clutch i was advised that this was the time to do this due to not having the bellhousing bolted up.unfortunately i didnt try it, but i looked at it and in theroy it should work.and as far as deleting the a/c if i was going to bypass it i would remove the compressor(weight loss) as well as the lines and accumulator as well as the condensor.

The larger (diesel truck) spark plugs fit the holes in the heads also. Find some cheap ones and break off the porcelin.
