Need some input.
Okay, I have decided to tear my motor down come January. Here is my dilemma. I am thinking of going with a 306 build or 351 swap. My wife is getting a company car in January and Ill get her CRV to putt around in, so as long as she is ready to go by spring 07 Ill be happy. I would like to also go S/C with either way I decide to go. If I stay with the 302 block I wanted to just go with some GT40s, Intake, TB, and an E303 cam. I want to stick with CARB approved parts because of my car being a CA car. I have been eyeing the 5psi vortech system on summits site. If I went with the 351 swap I would probably stay closer to stock with a 5psi S/C. I do some auto X and raod driving usually once or twice a month. I just want something that is going to give me an edge on some of the other stangs in my area. Id love to pull on some of the vettes and camaros in my area also but I figure I would lose the top end that I enjoy having while pulling through the turns.

Thanks for the input, I am leaning more towards the 351 just cause to do the swap would cost about the same as upgrading my 302, plus I have a little more under the hood to play with later if I wanted to.

Im sure a stock 351 with a vortech would still pass. I have a buddy who has a smog shop but I just want to be on the safe side just incase he closes shop or something.
