Default Trickflow heads

My car has trickflow twisted wedge heads. My friend loves the power my car has and was going to do a similar build up but he was gonna bore out the motor n stuff. He talked to several different reputable shops and they all said dont use trickflow heads. They told him the heads make good power but they wear out the valve guides and the motor will start to burn oil after a while. My car burn quite a bit of crude already only at 91k. i thought it was because the previous owner only drove it like 500 miles a year all the seals inside the motor were dried and brittle which was making it burn oil. Question is, is there any truth to the trickflow heads doing this? My motor is completely built from the heads up. The pistons and the crank are the only things stock. Everything else cam, heads, valves, springs, rockers are all aftermarket. Whats the deal.

The old ones used to, but that problem was fixed several years ago.
