With low tire pressure, I have to "launch" at basically idle or I spin too much. Depends on what tires you have.

The way you guys make it sound, almost like he's dropping the clutch... It's all about slipping it! I never "launched" high, about 2000-2500, and pulled 2.1 60's on horrible horrible tires. Your trap speed is definitely good for high 13s! I trapped at 94.5 netting a 14.4 before my big mods... a 98 Mph should be pretty damn close-
You'll get much better your next time around, comfort comes with practice.

Just get some drag radials and some more seat time at the track, your times will improve alot. You did fine for your first time out.
