FWIW...Nothing wrong with running longtubes on a mild motor.
No theres nothing WRONG with it but its just not needed. Just like running a 255 fuel pump. You dont need it but you can run it. With a stock car you want to keep all the lowend you have.... and running LT's would not help. It might pick up a few HP in the upper rpm range though.
Headers will improve the sound quality some. Id get an h pipe though. Gutted converters messes with the exhaust flow some. Buy a cheap pace setter mid pipe for like 75$

I'm always looking towards the future. I'd gladly sacrifice a few ft lbs down low right now to be able to not have any reason to change headers later on down the road with a nice HCI combo. But, hey, that's just me. [8D]
