5.0 5speed lx coupe with mass air
The hatchs on these car are very heavy. Heavier than trunk. The GT ground affects do add weight with the foglights and stuff.
In a book I just looked at a gt hatch in 1991 weights almost 3200lbs and the lx coupe of the same year weights almost 3050lbs and I think the lx hatch was almost 3100lbs. So your best bet looks like a 5.0 lx coupe where you weight 150lbs less and probably gain 15hp(I think I remember hearing shaving 10lbs gains 1hp). Then you can always save weight by choosing a car with manual windows, door locks, mirrors, no ac, etc.

helps the weight transfer to the rear wheels for drag racing...obviously it'll hurt performance in the corners some but not too much
