nope, no notching with the TF heads, if you go with the heads might wanna consider the H/C/I combo, suppose to net you 350HP
talk about bad information.... geez. ANY HEAD THAT HAS 2.02" INTAKE VALVES WILL REQUIRE NOTCHING THE PISTONS

AFR165 heads are one of the few that do not require piston notching. the reliefs in the stock pistons are sized for 1.9" intake valves,
afr165's have 1.9" intake valves
trick flow heads have 2.02 valves

and a tip of advice don't go drilling holes into your car if you don't know how to do it.

i personally think you should go with trickflow heads cam intake kit (or twisted edge i think)... 351 kind of off for an 85-93?

Twisted wedge...has to do with the valve postion

Sorry bud, but I also think that you are better off going with something else. Good luck figuring it out.

I thought that with any aftermarket heads you'd have to notch the pistons on an 86. I did the TF street intake and am looking at 165 heads and a mild cam and was told notching the pistons is a must, no matter what.

AFR 165's will outperform those clevlands hands down, i'm not very technically up to speed on clevland motors but my understanding is that the windsor and clevlands are night and day between the two. [&:] A close second place and financially smart decision would be the Trickflow Twisted Wedge Heads, either way get that intake ported and larger MAF, TB, to feed those new heads... either way best of luck with your decision.

If you wish to put 351 Cleveland heads on the 5.0 you need to use some special pistons.
I think it was 7-8 years ago that I saw some made by TRW that were called 'Cleavors' The top of them had the correct machine work for the Cleveland heads.
Good luck trying to find them.....
