Default couple questions

first thing, i bought an MSD blaster 2 coil. The package says i need a 0.8 ohm resistor in line with the positive wire before it gets to the coil. package says if i dont have this then my CPU will fail. is this true, what do the forum gods suggest? everything on this car is stock.

second, what is the stock thermostat open tempurature?

thanks

I bought a Blaster 2 coil for my Pontiac and it came with a ballast resistor in the package. Yours didn't? It must be something with the Ford computer or ignition box because I know on my Pontiac I only need the resistor with a points ignition.
