It's all based on opinion. I personally would hate to drive a car that looks all nice and goes no where. Rather than a Zebra colored Mustang that will put the hurt on some of these turbo'd ricers around here... I do need to paint it though, AND IF you do need to look at something nice, you just look over at your passenger seat...

Or you could just buy a car that looks halfway decent to begin with and than work on the motor

Because for the most part, looks are nothing. Looks are for show and add nothing to the actual performance of the car. In other arenas (such as sports) the people that thought like that would be called posers.

Picture the guy showing up at the basketball court wearing brand new $150 sneakers and a brand new $200 sweatsuit. But he can't even dribble the ball without losing it. Meanwhile the guy in the ols beatup converse is kicking his ***.

I saw this a lot at the skate park too. I would be there in my beatup K2 blades and some kids would show up with their brand new Filas or ST9s. Of course, they looked great but the kids could barely skate on a half pipe, let alone the street course of the vert ramp. Meanwhile, I'm tearing up teh course as a sponsored pro with nothing but a set of beatup kneepads and some K2s that were literalyl falling apart (the right skate's top strap was literally held on with duct tape, lol.)

Same thing with a Mustang. Okay, so you have flashy rims and a big spoiler and a nice new paint job. But do you actually have any power?

Basically, if you're going to look the part, you had better damn well be able to act the part. But there's nothing wrong with being able to hold your own without actually looking the part.

Those that spend all the money to look better are more concerned with what others think about them. My car looks bone stock. I'm sure half of you would **** all over it for being an SN95 that looks bone stock and slow. I know I've had people around here dump on it talking about how slow and heavy they are, etc. Of course after one race, they are left looknig like a complete dumbass. They just spent 5 minutes talking about how slow and heavy the car is and then all of a sudden they're finishing 3+ seconds behind me in the 1/4 mile.

i cant tell you how many people look at my car and say wow what a pile and try to race it. i i just love when i beat these new 20,000$ cars and i know i only have 5gs into mine
Isn't it great? I prefer to look like an ordinary stock car, lol. Just let them run their mouth and talk trash. If I lose to them, well I was supposed to, I was the slow stock car. But that rarely happens, lol. Usually, when you're putting down 430 rwhp, most of the trash talkers can't hold their own against you.
