I've seen bad coolant temp. sensors do things from making the car run to rich to not letting it start up once it is hot.Could very well be your problem.I would replace it and take it from there.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^what he said goes for me too! Just make sure you change the right one! One is for the temp gauge and the other is for the ECU, the one for the ECU is mounted in the small pipe running over towards the heater core.

alright well i have no more codes and no more lights in the dash and the car still doesn't run right... ive got 40psi in the rails and am at base timing... what else can i do?
