Speed sensor on mass air conversion?
Hey, Im converting my 88 to mass air as we speak and Im hearing mixed things about the speed sensor. My manual trans dosent have the sensor, and the car does not have cruise control. Does this need to be hooked up and then wired into the EEC?

RE: Speed sensor on mass air conversion?
The VSS is also used for idle speed kickdown when coasting to a stop. Some folks have stalling problems without it, others don't.
There are a few other functions that utilize the VSS, but I can't remember anyting specific right now. The main thing seems to be the coasting stall.
I recommend hooking it up, if only to keep the code from bouncing up all the time.

ok, then can I just buy the speed sensor, hook it up then run the wires directly to the computer? or does it have to be hooked up somewhere else too?
Thanks
