Spark Plug problem

RE: Spark Plug problem
Before you start throwing parts at a car; Why is the check engine light going off? That should be the FIRST thing you do before buying parts. I don't know how to pull the codes on a 2.3, but figure out whats throwing the light (pay someone to read the codes! Then chase down the problem!)

RE: Spark Plug problem
When i ran the tests with the code reader i got code 224: 1,2,3, or 4 ckt failure. In the manual code 224 says: irratic idm input to rprocessor. The new coil gave the exact same problem as the last one. So I'm quite sure the is futther back than the coil, what ever controls the coil. And i know forsure that the check engine light is directly related to when the coil works properly or not. When its on and i check the spark on the right coil only 2 plugs have spark, when its off all 4 work. Any help is appreciated, i dont know a lot about cars and im kinda learning as i go. thanks

RE: Spark Plug problem
Hmm well as far as i can figure out im pretty sure its my ignition control module thats gone, which would also explain why my tach doesnt work. Is there any way to test the module forusre? I dont want to replace the module if its not broken. The module at my work is 150$ which is almost at cost. THe model number it gave was lx 230. Does it have to be this exact same one? what do i look for when im getting a moudle? Is there any place to ge tone on cheaper? I looked on ebay but i dont know which ones would work and which wouldnt.
