so last week i was driving and my bypassed heatercore hoses fell apart with out me noticing on the freeway . so when i got of i saw smoke because i thought it was the coolant hitting the engine somewhere creating steam so i had a flat head to i tighted it back together so the next day im in my garage istalling hooker super comp headers and its there for 3 days in my garage so to day i was driving it home from school and the temp was 270 degrees plus so im like dang go 2 kragen to get a thermostate installed it there and turned the car on ... smoke started coming out ... check the coolent there was mayb lik a cup full in there so i was like im screwed wit a head gasket blown so i fill it up 2 with 2 gal.of 50/50 then top it off wit water started it again andsmoke came out th valve covers so i bought valve cover gaskets so do u guys think thats the olny thing i need cuz oil is coming out the valve covers.????? or do u think its more serious it still started up and i reved it

First of all you need to do a compression test to see if indeed you have a blown head gasket. Have you noticed a loss of power? Is your oil on your dipstick look milky? Are you losing coolant? Is you exhaust white smoke? Those are a few tail tail signs of a blown head gasket.
