I tried searching but i couldnt find anything on this exact topic. Where do i plug the green wire from a shift light into? I read that you have to tap into the wiring harness on a 98... is this necessary for a 89? THANKS

I hooked it up to the green wire on the coil...I just put one in last winter.

When i put mine in i hooked it into the distributor, on my 90 5.0 there is a connector with a plug right off the distributor wires. i took off the plug and put the wire into it, it works so i wired it into that.

That plug just of the dizzy you mention, is the spout connector. You should put the plug back in if you haven already. The directions that came with my shift light said to splice it into the negative side of the coil, which is the green wire.
