new belt for underdrives???

ok, so i put a MAC crank and water pump pulley on. i didnt put the alternator pulley on. anyway, now my belt squeaks when i rev it or hit hi rpms, almost like the belt is to slow. some of you may know what i'm talking about. the tensioner is almost all the way down, and i'm wonder how much smaller (in inches) of a belt should i put on there???
