RE: Putting in my New cam, Reinstalling motor.. Need help please
wow man........... i think the phrase "in too deep" might apply here........ you shoulda worked on a honda or soemthing for your first build, that way if u f***d u could just laugh about it. I really hope you get some help, google it or somethin, ive done on or two. its not real hard, but i couldnt explain the steps to you over the internet.....
few hints............timing marks should line up before you put the chain on, which is after yopu put the cam in =P. u can just slide the cam most of the way in, and use a rubber hammer to go the rest, but i really, REALLY dont recommend it. I had an engine builder walking me through everything, puttin the cam in is the most nerve racking part. once you get it in, the timing is pretty simple, if number 1 is up and intake and exhaust are closed put it together, otherwise ur 180 degrees(crank) off.

Hmmm lets see. You're building a procharged 5-600hp motor and don't know how to install a cam. [&:]You're kidding right?

1. DO NOT HIT THE CAM WITH ANYTHING! If you have trouble sliding the cam in dont hit it you can knick the cam bearings, move the bearing away from it's oiling passage, or knock it out completally.
2. Align the timming marks "dot to dot"
3. I would suggest installing a holding device (bolt with vicegrips on the end) that screws to the cam it makes installing the cam a lot easier.
4. Don't go shy with the lube, lube is good
