RE: AFR HEADS 185cc..opinion
If it's just the 300rwhp barrier you're looking for, there are TONS of people who have done that on a stock shortblock. There are several here. The 330+rwhp barrier is very difficult, but has been done. Those are usually the types of cars that are examples of a companies work or accomplishments. For the specific car I'm thinking of, go to the corral and search for ERStettin. It's his old combo. He now has a 360" 10sec N/A 10.5:1 car. It was all FTI parts: FTI AFR heads, FTI cam, FTI Edelbrock intake. That's why he made so much power. Stickover $3k in H/C/I on a stock shortblock and you'll make 330+rwhp too. Here is a pic of the car in Ed's gallery: http://www.flowtechinduction.com/streetpics.htm

I wouldnt waste my time with AFR 165cc heads they are marginal at best for a stock motor. If you do anything beyond an h/c/i they will be a restriction.
start off with a RHS180, Canfield 190, or something of the sort. then get the pistons notched for clearance.
