Default Running Hot

I finished most of my mods about a year ago and since then it's been running slightly warm but manageable. The stock gage reads halfway up steady after a quick warm up. About 2 weeks agoI sprung a leak from the water pump and sinceIhad it apart I replaced it with a Edlebrock high flow model. It did not run any cooler after the change but no leaks or problems until this morning. Running up the highway in 5th gear I noticed the gage needle started to get a little past the halfway mark and stayed there until I parked and turned the engine off and then the needle maxed out hot. I checked the coolent fill container and itwas slightly low but not much. I then got a bad feeling and pulled the oil dip stick and was happy to see the oil was nice and clean. There is no noticible sign to explain the overheating. All new hoses and180 Tstat is about a year old and I have not had it out. I enjoy my mods and I usually only drive the car on the weekends but as far as tempeature it sure runs on the edge all the time. Anybody with similar problems please reply with suggestions.

Yeah, when my 93 warms up it runs about 3/4 of the way up the stock gauge. I know these stock gauges aren't always that accurate, so I just ordered some summit gauges, we'll see.
