Default New owner-Engine cutting out

New owner on second tank of gas. Car was running fine, but now wants to cut out when starting off or accelerating from low RPM's. Previous owner just had stator in distributor replaced for starting isue last month. Seemed to happen about twenty miles into new gas. Could this be related, or maybe just bad gas?

That could be a symptom of a few problems. Is it throwing codes? I am having the same issue right now, but I get no codes. I just replaced the fuel filter, and it helped some, I think. I plan to change the plugs and wires and coil in the near future and see if that helps. Its not a DD so I am in no rush. I know that is not much help, but like I said, I will try to track it down and let you know what I come up with.

When it starts cutting out, does the Tach gauge go haywire?

Start w/ a full tune up. Plugs, wires, oil/filter, clean/replace air filter, fuel filter. Get some Carb cleaner and take apart/clean your IAC valve as well. See where you stand after that.

BTW, this is all stuff that should be done w/ a new car (new to you) anyway, so don't think of it as just throwing $$ at the problem.

too low of timing, vacum leak, TPS dead spot or voltage too low at idle, bad fuel filter or pump and bad distributor are the usuals.

Turns out problem was the mass air sensor.

Thanks for the suggestions.
