If your only pulling 6 in. of vacuum, it is time to go to manual brakes. In my 357 i have 7 inches of vacuum but i run manual brakes. My cam spec's are 625/661 lift with 1.7 RR, dur @ .050 is 246/259. I run the Holley HP 750 with the four corner idle, no choke horn and no vacuum advance. I run a little rich also, i have adjusted the carb several time's. I will be getting a dyno tune that hopefully can correct it some, and i have a little over 11.1 comp., so i want to make sure everything is right. With my engine the shop said i will probably always run a little rich at idle since the engine was built for WOT.

I run a vaccum canister for the brakes....I've had alot better luck with the HP series carbs...never run a demon...Last demon I messed with (about 3 years ago),was a buddys and on the dyno ,finally fed up,swapped it out with a modified Baker 830 and picked up everywhere (H.P)including Idle quality..Seriously my Dominator 1050 ,idled cleaner than this carb with a roller cam with 270 ,280 @ .050...and made almost 700 H.P..I'm prob gonna order a 750 HPs carb and start over ,,leta buyer from ebay deal with this Demon..

This is what I'm leaning towards as a fix....

We told BIGS that our 9.5:1 302 typically ran a stout solid-roller camshaft and single plane intake, both of which made the idle quality tough to manage. BIGS made some internal modifications to the carburetor, such as the different idle air bleed orifice shown here. These types of modifications not only require extreme precision, but they require years of knowledge and experience. Unless you know carburetor function inside and out, we recommend you leave it to the pros to make such adjustments.
