. The stock small block can only handle around 400hp. Plus, to get that kinda power out of it, I spent around $10,000 in parts.
Am I reading this wrong or did you say you spent 10g's on a 302 to make 400rwhp? [&:]
No you are reading it correctly. This motor isnt a high-school bolt on special. Off the top of my head:
Block:150
Rotating assy. 2000
Heads 2000
carb 400
Intake 200
Front cover......Well you can add it all up.... All new parts for everything. If you think you can make more power out of a 302 then I did for less money (naturally aspired), I WILL throw my car on my trailer and meet you somewhere for a race. All the little parts to make a new motor are not cheap. Bolts, fuel delivery, oiling, fan, balancer($400+), flywheel,,,,, oh and the parts are sfi certified where they are supposed to be.

Did you mean 400 rwhp or fwhp turt? I think I am getting close to 400 rwhp with my combination. Now I didn't buy every new bolt, but I did replace everything that will wear in the engine and would be replaced when doing anything high performance. I spent $6400 on mine but I did assemble it myself. I didn't get forgedcrank because in my opinion that is a waste because thestock block will give up long before a goodqualitynodular crank will.I do agree that a stroker will be worn out in about 50-60k miles. I have had to freshen up mine once already, and it just got in the 50k range.
