off set/ back spacing wheels???

Can anyone explain this stuff. I am buying 17x9 Shelby razor wheels in the gun metal finish and I want to buy the right size. I am running stock drum brakes on the rear with a five lug axle upgrade, but will upgrade soon to disc brakes, (if the discs will work with c-clip eliminators.) I have stock calipers up front with 5 lugspindalsbut i will also upgrade those in the future. What size rims will work for now and the future upgrades?
