ok... 1st... yup the a9l works... 2nd, its not your ONLY option

if ur auto-any mass air ecu out of an auto car
if ur manual-any mass air ecu(auto or manual)

the only ones i remember off hand are a9l a9p c3w there are more though

and ofcourse i have to ask, why are you converting?

****... id run that SD... im getting ready(hopefully starting it up tonight) to run the xe270 which is i thing 1 step above what your talking about... i have my card right here, lol...

so as you can see, both cams are similar, with mine being bigger...im gonna stay SD.. i dont see you having a problem doing so... from some of the numbers i see( i can explain if youd like) i think you will be fine... might take some tweaking to idle, but should be fine

now... some more questions, not related to the SD/MAF but related to the cam

what heads
what valve springs
what locks/retainers
what of that ^ do you already have, and what is it?

tuning as far as what? as far as what you can tweek yourself?

timing
fuel pressure
tps(make sure its right anyway)
adj iac plate
and your going to have to **** w. the vac line from the mani to the map sensor... well dont have do, but might have to, depending on the cam... just to trick the map sensor into thinking theres either more vac, or to calm the pulses down...

All i have is the cam and 1.6 rocker arms right now.Im using stock e7 heads.but have to have the spring seats machined for the dual springs.Which is $7.50 a spring seat.(part #986-16)Then i will have to get the retainers (#740-16) and the locks and seals(611-16, 503-16)I talked to a guy at comp cams and he also said it would work with SD.But i also need to know if this a roller cam or not .Cause my engine doesnt have roller lifters.
