Default Gt-40 tubular intake to much for stock 5.0?

Would a tubular GT-40 u/l intake be to much for a stock 5.0? i don't intend on engine work for a WHILE, my objective is full boltons and aluminum drive train (flywheel and d/s)

no..they were designed around that platform..based on a upgrade bolt on part for stock 5.0's.....but if youlan to do major mods like a good h/c/i....then there are obvious more efficient options out there..for a s old a design the gt-40 intake did come in on the bottom in a recent test of various manifolds..but to the editor's suprise it performed quite well for such a old design

.... how is an intake going to be too much.I highly doubt that getting the best intake, whatever it may be, will hurt your performance.

you can definately go with an intake thats "too much". somthin like a breadbox intake is for a higher rpm or boosted application and that would kill your performance in most scenarios. on the street your car would prolly feel gutless since the power band for the intake is way higher than the crappy stock heads, cam and valve train can handle
