couple of questions need answered
First- On a distributor is the shaft supposed to spin free or be hard to turn I have 2 and 1 is hard the other isnt.
Second- If I was to get one which would be better MSD or the factory motorcraft seeing that the MSD is cheaper at the local parts store
Third- Trying to hook up power steering back up it was removed along with the a/c, would it be better to go with the bracket kit that moves it up tp where the a/c used to be or could I just get the original a/c compressor bracket and hook it to that.
If i use the a/c bracket kit that relocates it will the factory pshoses still reach

RE: couple of questions need answered
the factory dizzy will be just fine!! if the dizzy has beedn out of the car for sometime then shoot some oil around the bushing/ shaft and see if it loosens up.....I d personally go with the a/c eliminator bracket if you don/t care for a/c........and your hoses will work fine here's a pic of my motor with the ford racing a/c elim kit and stock hoses

RE: couple of questions need answered
A used distributor out of a car will spin very freely. A new MSD or NOS factory distributor will spin a bit more stiffly, but certainly not hard. FWIW, I have a brand new stock '93 distributor for my EFI swap and it spins with about the same resistance as the new MSD one that I had previously.
Look to Ebay for used stock distributors as it will be at least a few hundred dollars less than the other options.
Good luck!
Jeff
