Default RE: replacing camshaft

That must be a 03 mach 1 specific issue because i know plenty of people that use c&l with no problems.

The gears are a great idea. You will not see a 50 hp increase in what you plan on doing to the car, dont be mislead. With a cold air intake you'll be wasting money unless you get if for very cheap. I know you did not ask but i would not bother with the cam, it's not needed with stock heads. Intake would be ok since it's easy to install and you can alway's use it later when you build the engine. I cant knock all C&L MA's but my experience has not been good. Exhaust is always a good idea, and of course it will sound nice. Use the money you were going to spend on the cam and get some control arms and sub-frame connectors.
They are garbage. My bodies '03 Mach had one installed and it leaned him out really bad....16:1 at 3500rpms! Dynoed at only 240rwhp on a dynojet[:'(]. Catback, high flow catted h..throttle body spacer and no C&L and it put down 298rwhp on the same dyno a month later. The shop Apex Motorsports, which is one of the biggest Ford performance shops in the SF bay area now refuses to dyno or work on cars w/C&L's.

The MA they use in the setup is to large for most applications. Anyone who has taken their car to the dyno can tell you what let down they are. I've heard about this problem with many more cars then the Mach.
