I was also wanting to go 331 when i get my dart block so i can push mass levels of boost. I have seen a lot of 347's when they try to build them up with a lot of power obliterating themselves and splitting the **** out of the block. 331's almost never have that problem especially with a dart block. But the 347 is a crazy motor, the guy up the street from me has two supercharged 347's and they're a good bit of fun. There are positive and negative to both don't preach either wy just let the guy make his own decision.

OKAY I SAID I WAS DONE BUT, THIS CRAP THAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING AND DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE INDEED TALKING ABOUT IS GETTIN REAL OLD. I AM ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON THIS FORUMN IF PEOPLE DONT STOP SAYING **** THAT IS NOT TRUE, IF U DONT KNOW DONT SAY WHAT U THINK IS RIGHT FROM INTERNET STORIES....****ING DONE NOW
hey hey no offence meant, i wasn't saying all 347 are bad, i know a few guys with 347's that run fantastic. There are ups and downs to both. only reason i chimed in is because i have physically seen with my own eyes that happening. If built properly a 347 is a great motor.

What the hell is happening? Anyway Grnstang....this is what I would do, oh one thing you have to consider is emissions as well...if your are fortunate enough to not live in a emission controlled state...I would do exactly what 1995mustang818, if you DO live in a emission state like myself in CA I'm restricted to options...so if you DO...then do a Ed Curtis/FTI cam...he can tailor one to emissions along with a set of AFR 185's, nice long tubes, one of the intakes1995mustang818 mentioned all will work great..I prefer the systemax. maybe have a little Fox Lake work done to it....car should make 380HP N/A....my earlier comment about building a stock block was if you dont want to break the bank...your call....thanks

for a 331 with the most power here's a few choices...

heads:
-atleast afr185's
-canfields 195's
-tf hiports

cam:
custom ground

intake:
eddy rpm2
holley systemax
most tfs inakes are good but they are a plenty on the classifieds so buy one used.

what that guy said about afr165's and gt40's heads is rediculous, all they'll do is starve the motor.
and the reason those 347 always blow blocks is because they are at the stock blocks limits.
331s do the exact same thing if you get enough power and rev it high enough.

man i'm with jt on this this thread is filled with crap

EDIT: If built properly a stroker motor is a great motor..........now the statement is correct......331's can be blown to as much as any motor can be
