Googled that... how does it work? Looks like it's supposed to act like a limited slip but with gears instead of clutches. If it's going to provide a decent lockup for a burnout but still let me accelerate out of corners without losing it, I'd be up for it.

Edit: And how much power can they usually take? I'm only looking for 600ish horses once I build the bottom end, but I'm sure I'll be tempted to turn up the boost eventually... And I'd definitely rather burn clutches than break gear teeth.

Cool, I think that's the way I'm going to go then. I'd like to have a selectable locker, but not if it's not rebuildable, and the tru trac will suit what I'm doing just fine. Thanks for all the help guys. Does anyone have any suggestions on the rest of the stuff?

if you're going to spend that much why dont you look at drivetrain specialists. I was quoted on a complete setup with brakes for like $1900.

I looked there, everything seems a bit more expensive than where I'm ordering from.

Question- would you guys bother with the pinion flange, the stud kit, and replacing the axle bearings? I can save myself about 100 bucks by skipping these.

definitly do the bearings... I wouldnt worry about the studs.. but I WOULD recommend investing in a axle brace from CHE Performance

Googled it... Does it just bolt up to any 8.8 housing? Looks like a good idea.

And how about the pinion flange, should I bother with that?

I just redid my 8.8 and put a pinion flange on and for one reason only, if there is a groove on yours from where the seal rides, I'd put a new one on so future leakage does not occur

Sounds good, I'll check for that before I start.
