While lookin around an area I was working on a few weeks ago i noticed this was broke off. Looks like the Vacuum line for the a/c!!!
Just to double check, am I correct? The black plastic 3 way splitter the line goes into says "VAC" on it.

Here's where the other end of the Vac line connects to..

What can i do to replace this vac line? Simple rubber hose? does the size matter? The stock one seems to have plastic on the inside.

ALSO

while under the dash i found this wire behind the break pedal

It seems as if it were cut, what could it possibly have been used for previously?

And yet another question.....
What is this wire?

I thought that it could be related to the wire previously found under the dash but both the wires on this line are red and the others are blue and red.

Sorry for all the problems. Hopefully I can get this thing in tip top soon enough.

There is a fix for this in the Late Model Restoration catalog. I read it last night while compiling my dream sheet. I can't remember what it was though...

that fix I posted isn't that hard at all.
Took me about 2 hours, moving slowly to be sure that all was correct. Total cost in parts was less than $25, and it is a permanent fix to the headlight/foglight flicker issue.

The webpage makes it look intimidating, but once you actually get the switch out and see what you need to do, its a cakewalk.

Edit. I didn't see the link posted earlier. Sorry

anyone know where I can get a replacement hose like the one that is broken in the picture for the a/c vacuum?

And is this hose the one that would cause the main dash vents to not work and the others to still function.

Not sure where to get the black hose, but I would think you could use the tube you would use for a vacuum or oil pressure gauge.
