Default Problem found?

I jumped the stang today after the short had gotten the best of it from sitting for a week.
And it started up fine but now it's got a loud whining sound coming from the rear. I can hear it from inside the car as well. Almost sounds like the fuel pump. I've always had an idle issue that felt like a sticking injector or a bad IAC.

Could the fuel pump have been failing for all this time and just now start making that noise?

The surging idle seems to be just as bad as it use to be. When it surges, the sound from the whining changes.

What do you guys think? I've dropped the tank before, the tank is clean and the pumped seemed to be working fine.

Don't just buy brand new parts and throw it at installation to hope it works, in some cases that could cost thousands just trying to find whatever it is that's not working, which could be a 10 dollar part. Find out exactly what it is before buying and installing new parts unless you do intend on replacing certain things anyway...

Thanks. I think I'll have my guy take a closer look at it and just have him order the pump if that's what's wrong.

fuel pumps on the fox are often noisey = doesn't mean it's bad
