I just got my gt 40 heads, I need to store them for about 7 months. I coated them in some rust penetrent to keep them from rusting and wraped them in plastic bags. should I store them standing on end or laying down flat?

I did the exact same thing with my stock E7's. I have them laying flat. They've been that way for the last 2 years and are still rust free and lubricated nicely.

yes stand them on end not flat, and yes use some sort of oily base to coat the metal to aka rest penetration, wd-40, ATf works really well

Plastic bags, end up and they will wait 20 years for you.
