Default fuel pressure problem

I have a 92 gt and it's not getting enough fuel pressure. one day it was fine and running 40#'s of pressure then I parked it for about a week and when I started it again it ran like crap so I checked the fuel pressure and it was only running 30#'s. I've drove it a few times since then and it slowly keeps dropping, now it's only running about at 20#'s. My first thought was the the fuel pump but I've never heard of one just gradually going out like this. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be other than the pump or the filter (filter was replaced before this started). I would appreciate any advice thanx.

are you having issues with the motor cutting out? what FPR do you have? have you recently changed anything before this happened? changed fuel filter as of late?

fuel pumps can gradually go out, most of the time though they just fail but sometimes they can gradually lose their performance.

It drives alright if u drive it really easy but if u give it 2 much gas it cuts out. I don't know what fpr it has on it cuz I bought the car with stuff already done to it but I assume it's not a factory one. the only things I've changed are the filter, coil and plugs. And that was about a month before this happened. Is there anyway 2 check the fpr?

You can pull the vac line off it and see if you smell any gas in the hose. The FPR is at the back of the intake on the right side. Stock is silver. You can also pull the vac line off and see if the pressure goes up. If there is no gas smell and the pressure stays the same the pump is probably shot.
