I want to change my old wires with new 9mm wires, but was wondering about this. I still have that stock rubber boot over the distributor cap and I hate it. I know that I cant just take it off since it can possibly lead to misfiring. So, should I just change the distributor cap along with the wires or the whole distributor? I still have the stock distributor, but it is still in good condition, so I didnt know if it was worth it to shell out the extra money or for now just switch the old cap with a new one that wont need the boot to prevent moisture from getting in. Thanks

Definately a new cap and rotor MSD you dont have to get a new distributor I have my boot off and a MSD cap and rotor and its fine. Buty if you wanna shell out the extra bucks go for it.

no need for a MSD ..a stock one works fine....make sure it has brass terminal..and yes you can take off the boot with no problem....

Any brand of cap and rotor will do fine, I got the accel one and it did great, it also came with the brass terminals.

thanks, then thats what im about to do. Trying to make my engine look a little nicer and run better at the same time. I think the a set of new 9mm blue wires will help in my pursuit
