Starting issue
My wife has a 91 5.0 LX convertible which is having a problem that is driving us nuts. On certain days we go to the car and it will not start at all. Other days you go out and it fires right up. The solenoid is clicking but no action from the starter. I have replaced the solenoid and the battery cable ends. Like I said it doesnt do it all the time. Is it possible it is a dead spot in the starter?
If it is the starter anyone know the trick to getting the thing out as I have looked at it and have one to put in but cannot figure out how to get to the top bolt and and get the starter out. Thanks for any help.

Make sure your solenoid is grounded good to the fender where it's mounted. I had a similar problem with my car.
As far as removing the starter, I think I got the the top bolt from the engine bay and reached down through my headers, but I don't know what kind of exhaust you have and if that's possible on yours.
