Default Trys to stall when cold and hesatates

Just bought a 87 GT. Now when I first start it in the morning the revs bounce and it stalls (if i don't give her a bit of gas). Yet, after it reaches about 120deg it'll idle almost perfectly. Also sometimes it'll hesatate and backfire a bit when driving normally. Sometimes I have trouble taking off from a stop because of this. Now this is my first stang but not the first time I've messed with a 302 though but I don't think the 302 I worked on had the fancy new computers (1986 f-150) I'm better with the 351w (my bronco) but I'm stumped. I have new spark plugs coming tomorrow since the ones in it now are rusty. Could it be that simple? I was thinking maybe the AIC or ECT but I was told they were replaced. I don't know what the timing is set at currently since I only just picked her up saturday. Any imput would greatly be appreciated.

Okay, now the ect is the sensor on the lower manifold correct? (atleast it is on the 351). And the IAC is that the cylinder shaped thing near the throttle body?

Could the aftermarket fuel pump be the problem? I was told that it is a higher volume pump, but in order for it to really make a difference wouldn't the injectors need to be beefed up as well. It just seems to be running rich all the darn time.
